“Now it shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established on the top of the mountains, And shall be exalted above all the hills; And all nations shall flow to it. Many people shall come and say, “Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us his ways And we shall walk in his paths”. For out of Zion shall go forth the law, And the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.”

When the church was founded it was founded upon these verses from Isaiah 2:2-3. These words have been confirmed over and over again as many people have visited our church, both from Sweden and other countries. We have had visitors from at least 56 different nations.

Sion’s ambition is to be a Christian centre in the middle of Sörmland
Today we are a vital and growing church with 80 members of different ages and nationalities. We preach the gospel and make disciples in obedience to the great commission of Jesus. We teach the doctrines of the classical Christian faith resting upon the Biblical revelation. Our ministry to children and youth are growing as well as our school, a pre-school and classes F-9, which is expanding. We evangelise regularly among the many internationals that live in Flen and our mission is intense and focused on both Sörmland and the Middle East. You are very welcome to visit us!

About the church...

Services and Sunday school
We have services with worship and teaching every Sunday at 11 a.m. The meetings are always interpreted to English, sometimes also to French and Spanish and other languages. The children below 12 years of age are welcome to our Sunday school during the Sunday morning service. Afterwards the café is open. Everyone is very welcome!

The youth work
Every friday at 6.30 pm we have youth meeting or other activity for everyone between 12 and 25 years.

Home groups
The church also meet in different homes to have fellowship, read the Bible and pray. In accordance with 1 Cor 14:26 everyone can share things on these evenings. You don’t have to be a member of Sion to visit our home groups.

Statement of mission
Sion’s mission work is in three different parts:
1. We are called by God to Flen and Sörmland and we consider the church as a Christian centre suited in the middle of Sörmland. We believe that God’s calling upon us is to be a blessing to Flen and Sörmland, both through the church and our school. There are people coming from all over Sörmland to our meetings and we also have a work in Strängnäs.

2. We also feel, in a concrete way, that we are called to work with the foreign people who come to Flen, especially those who live in the refugee camp. This work has confirmed the word from Isaiah 2:2-3, which the church was founded upon. The work has grown and a lot of good fruit has come out of it. Hundreds have been saved and baptized, both in Holy Spirit and water.

3. We have seen the Lord open a door in a very special way for us to have mission in the Middle East. The goal of this work is to build house churches, train Christian leaders and to spread the gospel and Christian literature. The mission work is expanding. Sion regularly sends teams to the Middle East to support the mission.

Pre school
We have a pre school and a day care centre for families with children in the ages 1-10. This is an alternative for the parent who work or study. It is open for every family. The personnel are all believers. The facility is big and light and in the same building as the Christian school. The goal is to give the children a safe environment where they can grow in a Christian atmosphere. If you want more info, please call: 0157-15157

Christian School
Flens Christian School is a school founded upon a Christian foundation. It started in august 1994 with 11 pupils in class 1-5. Now the school is a full elementary school with classes 1-9.
The schools goal is to:
· Equip the children in Christian faith founded upon the Bible
· Train every child to take responsibility and initiative and to have harmony.
· Train every child to have good character, compassion and an international responsibility
· Train the children to be a part of a democratic society

Declaration
Sion - Flens Kristna Center is an economical and juridical independent church. Sion was founded in 1987 and is a part of the Faith movement in Sweden. Sion is an evangelical and charismatic church and our faith is that the Bible teaches us the way and is the foundation for the Christian life. The church stands for a faith teaching in agreement with the classical and early Christian confessions about the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
The church’s main mission is to conduct a ministry that aims to fulfil Jesus Christ’s great commission: ”And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, ”All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things I have commanded you; and lo. I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matt 28:18-20
